For the past 31 years, All Saints Episcopal Church has held a spring garden tour, the proceeds of which have been donated entirely to charitable organizations. In recent years, the garden tour has donated approximately $25,000 to $30,000 a year to numerous local charities.
For the past thirteen years an integral part of this charitable endeavor has been the Artist Poster Contest. Hundreds of local artists have entered works in this competition, and many have sold their work as a result. The work selected for the Garden Tour Poster is displayed throughout Beaufort and Jasper Counties.
As we prepare for our 32nd Garden Tour, we would like to invite you to enter one piece of two dimensional, garden-related art in the poster competition. Flowers, gardens, birds, bees, butterflies, frogs, fountains, floral landscapes and abstracts are acceptable subjects for entries. Works in oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastels, mixed media, photography and colored pencil are acceptable. The piece selected for the poster must be vertically oriented, roughly 12×10 in scale. All art is for sale during the show at a price specified by the artist.
The submitted art will be hung in the main corridor of the Hilton Head Regional Medical Center. All hospital visitors will be invited to vote for the People’s Choice Award. All submissions will be eligible for the People’s Choice Award, including larger sizes. Up to 70 entries will be included in the show.
Procedure for Entry
Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Your email should contain “ENTRY” in the subject and the following information: • Name • Address • Telephone number • Medium you expect to use for the submission • Title (optional) • Price (optional).
You will receive a reply indicating that the information has been received, although the response may be delayed a few days. We will continue to accept entries until early January.
All works for the show must be delivered to the main lobby of the Hilton Head Regional Medical Center, 25 Hospital Center Blvd., Hilton Head Island, SC. You must provide the title and price of your work. Delivered works must be wired for hanging and accompanied by an entry fee of $20.00, cash or check, payable to All Saints Garden Tour.
The schedule for the show is as follows: February 1, 2019, deliver artwork and entry fee to Hilton Head Regional Medial Center between 10 am – 12 n. March 3, 2019, 5:00 – 6:00 pm, reception at Hilton Head Regional Medical Center, winner of the Poster Contest announced. March 4, 2019, 10 am – 12 n, artwork picked up from the hospital.
